DESCRIPTION
Communication is a 2-way street. It involves both the learner with autism AND the communication partner (teacher/ carer/ therapist). The role of the communication partner is pivotal in how social communication skills are learnt and used.

This workshop aims to empower participants with the knowledge and skills to support the development of communication skills in the learner with autism. Participants will be introduced to key elements that form the foundation of an autism-friendly communication intervention program.

A variety of learning activities will encourage participants’ self-reflection on how the information and key strategies presented can be applied to their own child/student in different environments, including in school and at home.
