Enhancement to the Assistive Technology Fund (ATF)
From 1 October 2024, the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) will increase the Monthly Per Capita Household Income (PCHI) criteria and corresponding subsidy rates for MSF-funded services and schemes. The PCHI revision aims to improve affordability and ensure that Singaporeans with greater needs receive continued support.
Overview
The Assistive Technology Fund (ATF) provides individuals with a subsidy of up to 90% of the cost of assistive technology devices, subject to a lifetime cap of $40,000.
The subsidy amount is determined according to the applicant's household gross monthly income per person.
The Fund can be used to acquire, replace, upgrade or repair assistive technology devices. These devices include wheelchairs and hearing aids.
The devices should aid in purposes of early intervention, education, training, employment, therapy, rehabilitation and/or independence in daily living. Applicants will need to undergo an assessment by an Assessor, such as a Therapist, to determine the need and type of assistive technology device(s).
The Fund does not support consumables.
The Fund will cover medical devices (e.g. oxygen concentrators and suction pumps) and spectacles for Singapore Citizens at or above age 60, who remain served by ATF.
