Overview
The Enabling Skills for Life Programme (ESLP) seeks to teach practical skills that will enable persons with disabilities to live, learn, work, and play in the community. The ESLP draws on the Enabling Skills and Competencies Framework (ESCF) developed by SG Enable's Enabling Academy, a learning hub for persons with disabilities. The programme uses a person-centred approach to care planning and training delivery to meet the unique requirements of each individual.
The goal is to support persons with disabilities in lifelong learning by helping them obtain skills for community living and employment as their needs change over time.
Caregivers play an important role in this process. The ESLP will give caregivers tools to reinforce the skills their loved ones learnt at home and in everyday settings in the community.
The ESLP pilot will begin in the fourth quarter of 2025 and run for three years.
ESLP clients and service providers
The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) is in the process of selecting Day Activity Centre (DAC) and Sheltered Workshop (SW) service providers to run the ESLP pilot. Existing clients of the selected DACs and SWs will move to the ESLP.
Caregivers of clients moving to ESLP will get more information from the appointed service providers in due course.
How to Apply
During the pilot phase, ESLP will primarily serve existing DAC and SW clients who are switching to ESLP.
More Information
More information on ESLP will be provided when the pilot commences.
